Annual T.O.G. Float Trip

August 7-9, 2011

At Huzzah Valley Resort in Steelville, MO

Cost:

• $30 per person , this is to help alleviate the cost of transportation, food, the campsite and floating on the river.
• A signed Medical History and Liability Release Form AND Payment are due no later than Sunday, July 24^th.

General Information:

• We share in responsibilities. Everybody will help set-up and tear-down camp, cook and clean-up, and help run the campsite.
• We will be outdoors the entire time. We will be camping in tents, eating at picnic tables, and playing in grass fields, so be prepared for the weather. Be sure to check the weather forecast for Steelville, MO before packing.
• We will be floating on a river in rafts. Huzzah Valley Resort provides one “floatation device” per person, but if you aren’t completely comfortable being in water, you are certainly welcome to bring your own life jacket, water wings, etc.
• We are going to have a blast! The only thing that makes camping and rafting even more fun is doing all that with your church youth group!
• To reserve your spot, just submit a completed and signed Medical History and Liability Release Form AND payment no later than Sunday, July 24^th.

Sunday, Aug 7^th

1:00 PM Load-up gear and Depart First Baptist Church of Edwardsville

Afternoon Arrive at Huzzah Valley and Set-up camp

Evening Dinner / Worship / Campfire activities

Monday, Aug 8^th

Morning Breakfast / Bible study

Afternoon Float the river / Organized games

Evening Dinner / Campfire activities

Tuesday, Aug 9^th

Morning Breakfast / Bible study / Tear down camp and Depart

Afternoon Stop for lunch (please be sure to bring money for a fast food lunch)

2:00 PM Arrive at First Baptist Church of Edwardsville

What to bring:

• Clothes – Jeans, Shorts, T-shirts, Jacket, Underwear, sleepwear
• Swimsuit (if swimwear is not church appropriate, a non-white t-shirt will have to be worn over the swimsuit)
• Shoes (shoes must be worn at ALL times) – Tennis Shoes, Sandals/Flip Flops, Shower Shoes, “Wet” Shoes (to be worn in the river to protect your feet from sharp rocks)
• Shower Stuff – Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, Deodorant, Towel, Wash Cloth, Coins (showers are coin operated, so bring plenty of quarters)
• Sleep Stuff – Sleeping Bag, Blanket, Pillow
• Bible, Sunscreen, Bug Spray, Flash Light, Camp Chair
• Medication (all medication, including dosage, must be indicated on the Medical History and Liability Release Form)

What NOT to bring:

• Electronic Devices – Including, but not limited to, cell phones, iPods, laptops, etc.
• Jewelry – please do not bring anything expensive or sentimental
• Weapons, Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, etc. (duh!)
• Bad Attitudes
